Cookeville, Tenn. ---Â The Tennessee State University women's basketball team suffered an, 83-34, road loss to Tennessee Tech Saturday night in the Eblen Center.Â
TSU had trouble finding its offensive rhythm early and struggled to contain a hot-shooting TTU squad early on. The Lady Tigers fell behind by 17 points in the opening quarter and could never dig themselves out of the hole.Â
Jaden Wrightsell led TSU with 11 points while
Kennedy Davis had a team-best five rebounds.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The score was 3-2 in favor of Tennessee Tech when the Golden Eagles used a 12-0 run to capture a 15-2 lead.Â
- TSU struggled to get its offense going and went six minutes without a score.Â
- By then, Tech had stretched the advantage to 18-4.
- At the end of the first quarter, TSU trailed 23-6.
- In the second stanza, TTU's hot shooting continued while TSU's scoring woes persisted.
- TSU was forced to call a timeout after a steal and breakaway layup put Tennessee Tech on top, 36-11.Â
- Heading into halftime, TSU trailed 46-17.
- TSU turned up its defensive pressure in the third period and forced three consecutive TTU turnovers.Â
- The Lady Tigers, however, only managed to score two points during a three-minute span.Â
- Despite the drought, TSU went point-for-point with TTU through the first seven minutes of the third quarter.Â
- The last three minutes, unfortunately, saw the Golden Eagles outscore the Lady Tigers, 12-3, to make the lead, 68-27.
- The deficit proved too much to overcome.Â
