INSIDE THE NUMBERS
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Empty possessions to start the game and missteps on the other end of the floor led to TSU falling behind, 8-0.
  • The home team finally got on the board following two free-throws by Jasmine Broner but SIUE answered with a 7-0 run to go up, 15-2.
  • The rest of the quarter was an uphill battle.
  • In the second period, TSU fell behind by 20 points and trailed 42-20 heading into the halftime break.
  • TSU came out with a sense of urgency in the third quarter and two quick buckets from Taylor Roberts forced SIUE to call a timeout.
  • The momentum still continued to go in the favor of TSU and the Lady Tigers cut the deficit down to 14 following a three-pointer by Andreana Wrister
  • Unfortunately, the TSU offense stalled and SIUE stretched the advantage back up to 60-41.
  • London Fairs connected from long range to pull TSU within 16 with 4:35 left on the clock.
  • That, however, would be as close as the Lady Tigers would get.
