NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State women's basketball team remained undefeated with a three-point victory on the road at Georgia State, 70-67. The defensive pressure from the Lady Tigers ended up being a main factor in the win. TSU recorded 18 steals and ultimately forced 28 turnovers.
Tatyana Davis, a graduate transfer from Toledo, tallied a game-high 18 points on eight-of-13 from the field. The scoring output was a career-high for the veteran guard, as she registered 17 points against Memphis on November 24, 2019.
Sierra McCullough led the team with seven rebounds, while freshman
Saniah Parker logged five steals.

Ty Evans' squad excelled at the free-throw line, going 22-for-27 (81%), while the Panthers went to the charity stripe 41 times and shot 54% (22-41).
TSU led by six at halftime, 39-33, as
Parker and
Davis scored 10 points apiece in the opening stanza. The Lady Tigers totaled 12 steals in in the first half compared to GSU's one. The Tennessee State bench out-scored Georgia State, 16-4, in the opening 20 minutes.
In the second half, the Panthers were held scoreless over the final 3:44 as they missed 13 of their last 14 shots. TSU freshman
Gia Adams worked her way to the free throw line nine times and cashed in 8-of-9, as she led the team with 10 points in the final 20 minutes.
Dominique Claytor, a transfer from East Carolina, posted five rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the final half of action.
The Tigers finish the road trip on Sunday in Lawrence, Kansas as TSU takes on the Kansas Jayhawks at 2:00 p.m.
