Women's Basketball Meets Crosstown Rival Lipscomb on Wednesday

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's basketball team will make a short trip crosstown to face Lipscomb on Wednesday evening at Allen Arena.

SERIES INFORMATION: Wednesday's road contest at Lipscomb will be the 28th all-time meeting between Nashville neighbors. The Lady Tigers hold a 22-5 series lead over the Bison. Last season's contest was canceled due to COVID, but the Bison took the previous contest during the 2019-20 season.

UP NEXT: The Lady Tigers will travel to DeLand, Florida, to take on VCU and Stetson as part of the 34th Annual Hatter Classic. Saturday's contest against VCU will be the first-ever meeting between the Lady Tigers and Rams. Sunday's weekend finale will be the second meeting between TSU and Host Stetson. The Hatters leads 1-0.

ANOTHER ADAMS ADVENTURE: Gia Adams had a season-high 21 points on 6-of-12 from the field and 4-of-7 from the 3-point in a four-point loss to Kansas City. The rookie finished second in the OVC Rookie of the Week voting. She also had five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 33 minutes.

CLAYTOR'S RETURN: Graduate student Dominique Claytor returned to the lineup after a one-game hiatus. The North Carolina native had 11 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assists in 21 minutes of action.

THE TRUTH: Alexis Pierce had back-to-back double figure games with 10 points against Kansas City. In her last contest, she set a season-high with 15 points vs. Mercer. This was the third time this season she scored double digits. In the season-opener, she had 11 points against Fisk.
