GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 13 against Eastern Kentucky. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. in the Gentry Center. 
 
THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
TSU is looking for its first win of the season on Saturday. The Lady Tigers are coming off a loss to Morehead State on Thursday. The setback moved TSU to 0-17, 0-15 OVC. 
 
The TSU seniors have been the leaders for the squad. Andreana Wrister is turning in 14.6 ppg while Taylor Roberts averages 13.3 ppg. Jaden Wrightsell is almost averaging a double-double with 9.6 ppg and 7.6 rpg. Senior Breannah McCullah is the team's 4th leading scorer with 6.6 ppg.
 
TSU is averaging 48.0 points per game while shooting 33.2 percent from the field and 23.0 percent from three-point range.
 
The Lady Tigers are led by first year head coach Ty Evans. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
TSU got off to a slow start and despite nearly matching Morehead State point-for-point in the second half, fell to the Eagles 74-49 Thursday night in the Gentry Center. TSU fell behind by as many as 28 points and nearly cut that deficit in half but could not get over the hump. Andreana Wrister led TSU in scoring with 14 points while Taylor Roberts added 10. Jaden Wrightsell had nine points and five rebounds while Broner also recorded five rebounds.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Eastern Kentucky (6-11, 5-8 OVC) is coming off an 82-72 loss to Belmont on Thursday. The Colonels have dropped six straight and rank 9th in the league standings. 
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
TSU picked up a hard-fought, 67-64, win over EKU in McBrayer Arena. After shaking off a slow start, TSU battled EKU for the entire game. The Lady Tigers trailed by one at halftime and managed to take their first lead of the game in the third quarter. TSU led for most of the third period but EKU closed the frame with an 8-0 run to regain the advantage. TSU stayed close but played from behind for most of the fourth quarter until a late rally pulled the Lady Tigers even, 59-59, with less than four minutes to play. Timely plays down the stretch led to the Lady Tigers securing a 66-64 lead with 19.7 seconds remaining and the Colonels were forced to foul. After a free-throw increased TSU's advantage to, 67-64, the Lady Tigers got a big stop on the other end to seal the win. Jaden Wrightsell notched her fifth double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Jasmine Broner tallied seven rebounds, two blocks, two points, one assist and one steal.
 
SERIES INFORMATION
TSU and Morehead State will match-up for the 65th time in the series history with MSU leading, 38-26. The Eagles claimed both meetings last season and have won seven straight over the Lady Tigers. TSU's last win was a 69-66 victory in 2017.
