NASHVILLE --- Miscues in the final moments of the game, led to the Tennessee State University women's basketball team falling to Jacksonville State, 67-61, in the final home contest of the season.
TSU led by as many as 11 in the third quarter and had a one point lead with less than one minute remaining but costly mistakes down the stretch led to the game slipping away.
In her final game in the Gentry Center,
Taylor Roberts led TSU with 24 points to go with four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block.
Andreana Wrister finished the game with 19 points while
Jaden Wrightsell tallied 12 points, five rebounds and four steals.
Jasmine Broner recorded a team-best seven rebounds in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- TSU missed a few early bunnies and fell behind 7-2 at the first media timeout.
- The Lady Tigers came out of the break with a renewed energy and used a 6-0 run to go ahead, 8-7.
- JSU answered on the next possession to regain the lead but TSU scored the last four points of the quarter to grab a 12-9 lead after 10 minutes of action.
- Taylor Roberts used her signature spin move to score in the paint to christen the second period and gave TSU a 14-9 lead.
- Over the next few minutes, the Gamecocks outscored the Lady Tigers 8-3 to tie the game at 17-17.
- The score was tied 19-all when Taylor Roberts got a steal then an old fashioned three-point play to go up, 22-19.
- TSU had a slight 27-25 lead at halftime.
- Tennessee State started the third quarter with seven unanswered points to grab its largest lead of the game, 36-25.
- The TSU rally forced a JSU timeout.
- At the 4:42 mark, the home team was on top, 38-30.
- The Gamecocks managed to cut the deficit down to four but another bucket by Roberts gave the Lady Tigers a six-point cushion.
- JSU hit a three-pointer with less than 30 seconds remaining to make the score, 44-41, in favor of TSU heading into the final frame.
- Both teams battled in the fourth quarter.
- The score was 55-52 when JSU scored to pull within one.
- The opponents briefly tied the game then took the lead on the next possession.
- The Lady Tigers however answered with a bucket of their own to regain the lead, 59-58, with 2:05 remaining.
- Taylor Roberts put TSU on top, 61-58, with a bucket in the paint and with less than one minute remaining JSU answered to make the score, 61-60.
- A crucial turnover by TSU gave the ball back to Jacksonville State with 23.5 seconds remaining.
- A technical foul and ensuing free-throws gave JSU a 62-61 lead and the possession. Two made free-throws gave the Gamecocks a three-point lead.
- TSU's next two shot attempts were off the mark and JSU escaped with the win.
