NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State volleyball team dropped its first-of-two weekend matches to Jacksonville State, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-16).

The Gamecocks pulled away early, leading the Tigers in every set. The freshman outside hitter, Courtney Glotzbach led JSU with 12 kills on .579 hitting percentage and contributed one block.

Kariely Santa Delgado and
Aniya Williams led the Tigers on the offensive front with assists from
Kristian Marshall.
Kendall Bullock spread the floor notching five kills, a team-high nine digs and two blocks.

TSU (0-5) returns to the floor tomorrow at 5 p.m. for round two against the Gamecocks (5-0).

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
- The night began with a rally that wouldn't end. After multiple attacks and floor-sprawling digs, Sadie Brown went up for a kill, but came up with an attack error.
- JSU left the Tigers in a scoring lull for five-straight, increasing its lead, 15-9.
- The third Gamecock ace served as match point. A service error gave the Tigers one more point before a Courtney Glotzbach kill closed set one, 25-15.

SET TWO
- Aniya Williams kicked off the set with a big Tiger kill.
- A few Gamecock errors brought the score to 6-5.
- An Aria Holmes and Kendall Bullock block kicked off a 4-1 run by Big Blue, 20-15.
- 11 TSU kills later, the Tigers were just five points down.
- JSU rounded out the set with a block, 25-19.

SET THREE
- Down 6-1 early, the Tigers fought back to just a one-point deficit with offensive accuracy and a renewed energy with Mion Weldon on the floor.
- The Gamecocks picked up its hitting accuracy notching 16 kills on a .314 hitting percentage in the final points of the night. Two additional serving aces rounded out JSU's stat line and the night with a sweep of the Tigers, 3-0.

- TSU is 26-12 against JSU after going 0-2 in last season's series against the Gamecocks.
- Under head coach Donika Sutton, the Tigers are 1-6 against Jacksonville State.
- Two Nashville natives started for Big Blue tonight – Kendall Bullock and Micahlea Njie.
