GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday, Feb.9 for a rescheduled game against Austin Peay. Game time for the OVC contest is set for noon in the Dunn Center.
 
THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
TSU is looking for its first win of the season on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers are coming off a road loss to Eastern Illinois on Saturday. The setback moved TSU to 0-15, 0-13 OVC. 
 
The TSU seniors have been the leaders for the squad. Andreana Wrister is turning in 14.1 ppg while Taylor Roberts averages 13.8 ppg. Jaden Wrightsell is almost averaging a double-double with 10.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg. Senior Breannah McCullah is the team's 4th leading scorer with 6.3 ppg.
 
TSU is averaging 48.1 points per game while shooting 33.1 percent from the field and 22.7 percent from three-point range.
 
The Lady Tigers are led by first year head coach Ty Evans.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Despite a solid effort, TSU fell to EIU in Lantz Arena. It was a one-point game midway through the third period when the Lady Tiger offense started to struggle. TSU got outscored, 14-0, and fell behind 46-31 heading into the final ten minutes of action.  TSU fell behind by as many as 21 points but continued to fight and cut the deficit down to 12 in the fourth quarter. The opponents, however, were able to keep the Lady Tigers at bay. Jaden Wrightsell led TSU with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Andreana Wrister finished with 13 points and Breannah McCullah tallied 10.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Austin Peay (9-5, 7-3 OVC) will play for the first time since Jan. 25. In the Govs' last outing they picked up a 74-71 win over Murray State. APSU is third in the OVC standings.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
In what was a competitive game through the first three quarters, TSU fell to Austin Peay, 62-37, in the Gentry Center.  The game featured five lead changes and TSU only trailed by three points at halftime. The Lady Tigers kept the game within striking distance until the contest got away from them in the fourth period. Andreana Wrister led TSU with 16 points while Jaden Wrightsell registered a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds.
 
SERIES INFORMATION
TSU will face Austin Peay for the second time this season and the 66th time in the series history with the Govs leading, 36-29. APSU has won six straight, including the contest last month in the Gentry Center. TSU's last win was a 66-58 victory on Jan. 14, 2016.
