NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State's doubleheader at Alabama A&M has been postponed due to an unplayable field due to the heavy rain fall in the Huntsville, Alabama area over the weekend. The two teams are in discussion about a makeup date.

Tigers (6-16, 2-12)
2020: 7-11

TSU is coming off a three-game OVC series at Murray State. The Tigers picked up a 16 inning, 2-1, victory in game two, between a 3-1 and a 3-2 loss at the hands of the second place Racers. Francys King earned the win by pitching all 16 innings and earned OVC co-Pitcher of the Week honors. King finished the week with a 0.65 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 21.2 innings.

The 16 innings is the most by a pitcher in all levels of the NCAA this season. It is the second time this year a Tiger set a standard in the NCAA. Ivory Jones recorded 10 assists in a game against Grambling State on Feb. 27. The mark remains the standard and has been matched by two other players in the NCAA DI level and another in DII.

During the lengthy extra inning game, Marisa Mauroschadt hauled in 10 fly balls while Kayli Mothershed was behind the plate for every pitch. Mothershed also caught every inning of the series, totaling 288 innings.

Offensively, Jones hit two home runs at Murray State, giving her three on the season. The sophomore is batting .292 on the season and leads the team with 10 runs batted in and is tied with Anayah Baker-Rowell for the runs scored lead with 10. Baker-Rowell is second on the team with a .319 average and has three doubles, three triples and two dingers. Bri Vire sits atop the Tigers stat sheet hitting at a .324 clip with three doubles and tops the squad in walks (9), stolen bases (4) and on base percentage (.405).

King now leads the TSU pitching staff with a 1.71 ERA and has fanned 26 batters in 28.2 innings. The freshmen is holding opponents to a .238 batting average. Raven Loveless follows with a 2.18 ERA and 38 punch outs in 67.1 frames. Lauren Powell continues to lead the unit with 40 strikeouts in 49 innings of work with a 4.86 ERA.
