NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State softball team has altered their schedule for the second time in five days. The Tigers doubleheader at Tennessee has been moved up due to the potential of inclement weather in the Knoxville area. First pitch is now set for 11:30 a.m. CT with game two beginning approximately 39 minutes after the completion of game one.

TSU is half way through its 12 game road trip and is looking to snap a five-game losing streak. The Tigers have their worked cut out from them as they face No. 16 Tennessee.

The offense has been shutout in four of the last five games and was led by Renae Spears who went 4-for-9 with a run and two runs batted in. Kayli Mothershed hit her second home run of the season and added a double at Eastern Kentucky over the weekend.

Lauren Powell became the TSU career leader in games started when she toed the rubber in the first inning on Monday. Powell moved passed Shea Morris (2012-14) when she earned her 77th start. Powell found her form over the weekend, fanning 10 batters in eight innings of work. The redshirt-senior has tallied 57 punch outs in 65 innings. 

Francys King continues to lead the staff with a 2,68 ERA and holding teams to a .241 batting average.
