Tennessee State returns to the field on Sunday for the first time since Apr. 18. The Big Blue will play four games in three days starting with a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series with Jacksonville State. The fourth game is a rescheduled matchup with Lipscomb across town at Draper Diamond.

The ;ast time out, the Tigers dropped all three games at Austin Peay extending their losing skid to 10 games. Anayah Baker-Rowell earned a hit in all three games, to stretch her hitting streak to eight games. Baker led off the series with a home run on the second pitch of game one. Renae Spears and Lauren Farias launched their first career homers in the contest. It was the first three home run game by the Tigers since Mar. 2, 2013 versus Maryland-Eastern Shore. On that day, Audrey Sensing hit two home runs, while Jana Hanawahine hit another. The three blasts by three separate players is only the second time the feat has happened in program history. The only other occasion came on Apr. 14, 2009 in game one against Lipscomb. It is also the only time the Big Blue has hit four home runs in one game. Caitlin Eaton hit two long balls to go along with one each from Royesha Goodman and Melanie Cruz.

The Big Blue is coming to the end of its 12-game road trip with the twin bill at Samford. Coach Andrea Browning's squad will return home on Sunday to face Southeast Missouri. Freshman Anayah Baker leads the offense in 10 offensive categories, including hits (36), runs (13) doubles (6), RBI (13) and batting average (.330). Her three triples and three dingers are tied for team bests. As a team, TSU now has 12 bombs on the season, which ties the 2014 squad for 10th in TSU history. The Tigers 11 triples are tied for seventh all time at TSU with the 1996 and 1998 units.
