NASHVILLE --- The Ohio Valley Conference double header between Tennessee State and Belmont has been moved up to 2:00 p.m. to try and stay ahead of the potential incoming weather. The games are the conclusion of the four-game home-and-home series between the Tigers and Bruins. Belmont claimed the first two games player at Tiger Field on Mar. 24, 5-2 and 7-0.

Tigers (6-16, 2-12)
2020: 7-11

TSU took two out of three games from Morehead State to move into a tie with Belmont. Francys King and Lauren Powell earned wins over the weekend, while Raven Loveless was a hard luck loser of a 1-0 ballgame.

King leads the TSU pitching staff at 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA and has fanned 29 batters in 35.2 innings. The freshmen is holding opponents to a .219 batting average. Raven Loveless follows with a 2.07 ERA and 41 punch outs in 74.1 frames. Lauren Powell continues to lead the unit with 46 strikeouts in 56 innings of work with a 4.50 ERA.

Powell's next start will make her number one in program history in games started in the circle. Currently the redshirt-senior is tied with Shea Morris who started 76 games from 2012-14.

Offensively, Savanah Wallace led the Tigers on the weekend going 4-for-8 with a double to raise her batting average to .211 and team leading doubles total to five. Anayah Baker-Rowell posted a strong series by going 4-for-9 at the plate with two doubles, two runs and four runs batted in. Baker drove in the first four runs in three at bats during the Tigers 6-2 win in game three. The freshman leads the Big Blue on the season at .333 with 12 runs, 12 RBI, five doubles, three triples and two home runs.
