NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's basketball team will return home for a final non-conference matchup on Wednesday morning as they are set to host Wilberforce. This will be the Tigers' final contest before the Christmas Break and the final game they play versus a non-Ohio Valley Conference opponent as OVC play starts after Christmas.

SERIES INFORMATION: This will be just the second-ever matchup between the Bulldogs and Tigers. TSU first played Wilberforce in 2019 as they opened their season by hosting the Bulldogs. TSU came away with the 83-65 win to give them the edge in the all-time series.
SCOUTING WILBERFORCE: The Bulldogs come into Wednesday's matchup with a 2-11 overall. After dropping their season opener, WU reeled off two straight wins over Voorhees University (52-42) and Clinton College (8-74). WU has dropped 10 straight since and has only surpassed the 60-point plateau once in those 10 losses. The Bulldogs are averaging 56.8 ppg. Kadai Greene-Tucker is leading WU with 18.4 ppg while Madison Green leads the team with 3.6 rebounds per outing.
BEFORE THE BREAK: Head coach
Ty Evans is 1-1 in games before Christmas break as a head coach at TSU. He dropped a contest to Belmont before the break in his first season, while he picked up a win in last year's final contest before Christmas break against Stetson. The Tigers are 4-6 in the last 10 seasons in games before Christmas break.
FINAL TUNE-UP: This will be TSU's final non-OVC opponent as the Tigers will start league play after Christmas break. Wilberforce will be the second NAIA team that TSU will play and their third non-NCAA D1 opponent. The Tigers opened the season with NAIA member Fisk, followed by a matchup with DII Trevecca.
REBOUND RACE: Forward
Sierra McCullough continues to pace the OVC in total rebounds and rebounds per game, as the senior is averaging 7.4 boards per contest. She has tallied 74 boards on the year (26 offensive, 48 defensive).
MAKING HER MARK: Sophomore
Saniah Parker became the first Tiger player to log 300 minutes this season. The Alabama native played a team-high 27 minutes against Baylor to push her total minute count to 308. She has played in all 10 games with nine starts while averaging a team-high 30.8 minutes per outing.
