NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's tennis team battled at Middle Tennessee State on Sunday afternoon, but ultimately fell against the top-50 opponent, 1-6.
Maksims Kazijevs spear-headed the Tigers as he defeated MTSU's Pavel Motl, 1-6, 6-1, 1-0 (12). In the top doubles pairing,
Kazijevs was matched with
Leandros Misdrachis and fought to an unfinished bout, 5-5, against Motl and Stijn Stump of Middle Tennessee State. The Blue Raiders secured the doubles point with victories, 0-6 and 3-6, over TSU.
Diego Britt-Alvarez clashed with MTSU's John Chin, 3-6, 5-7.
Daniel Carabello dropped his match against the Blue Raiders' Lucas Olivier, 3-6, 4-6.
Tennessee State will face off against Southern on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the TSU Tennis Complex.
