EVANSVILLE, Ind. — After upsetting Eastern Illinois in the First Round of the OVC Championship, the Tennessee State University Lady Tigers will take on Austin Peay in the quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Ford Center.

AUSTIN PEAY SERIES INFORMATION: Austin Peay holds a 40-28 lead over the Lady Tigers in the all-time series. Austin Peay is on a nine-game winning streak over the Lady Tigers which began during the 2017 season. Prior to that, TSU won six-straight games from 2011-16.

SCOUTING THE GOVS: Austin Peay finished the season dropping four of its last five but held on for the fourth spot in the tournament. Yamina Johnson led the Govs in scoring this season at 14.9 per night and was also second in rebounds (4.9). Karle Pace is second in scoring at 14.7 per night and had a season-high 25 points against Belmont.

FIRST TOURNEY WIN SINCE: TSU's win over EIU was the Lady Tiger's first OVC Tournament win since 2015 when Big Blue won the OVC Championship.

TSU IN THE OVC's: TSU is 9-14 all-time in the OVC Tournament after its first-round win over Eastern Illinois on Wednesday. This will be the first meeting between TSU and Austin Peay in the league tournament. TSU's win was also the first time an eight-seed advanced out of the first round since Murray State knocked off UT Martin in 2016.
