TOP 1ST: To lead off the ballgame,
Jasmine Brown reached on a throwing error by the BC shortstop which gave the Tigers an initial baserunner in scoring position. After a groundout to move
Brown to third base,
Peyton Fointno registered a go-ahead RBI single for TSU.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Caitlyn Manus tossed her fourth complete game of the year; the freshman allowed six hits and no walks in seven innings, while striking out four.
- Peyton Fointno led the team with two hits, including the RBI base knock in the first inning.
- It was the sixth game with multiple stolen bases for TSU.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Manus made her 12th appearance in the circle, tied for third in the OVC. She's ranked fifth in the conference with 46 innings pitched.
- Maggie Klug recorded her first double of the season.
- Anayah Baker logged a two-bagger as well, her team-leading seventh extra-base hit.
- Baker is tied for fourth in the OVC with five doubles.
UP NEXT: Tennessee State will finish its Florida road trip on Wednesday afternoon with a doubleheader against Jacksonville and North Florida, beginning at 10:30am at the UNF Softball Complex.
