MURRAY, Ky. – The Tennessee State softball team fell to Murray State in game one of the weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOT 2ND: Lily Fischer led off the frame with a single to left field. With one out, Taylor Jackson singled up the middle to advance Fischer. After a groundout, Jensen Striegel placed a two-run single in left field to take an early lead. ||
MSU, 2-0
BOT 5TH: After a single by Lindsey Carroll to begin the inning, Sierra Gilmore reached on a fielder's choice. Gracie Osbron laced a single down the right field line to move Gilmore into scoring position. With two runners on, Fischer doubled to center field to score Gilmore. In the following at-bat, Isabella Wilson lined a two-run double down the right field line to extend the lead. ||
MSU, 6-0
BOT 6TH: Carroll doubled to start the stanza and scored on a two-run home run from Gilmore. ||

INSIDE THE STATS:
- Lauren Farias recorded the lone hit of the game for TSU.
- MSU's Hannah James, last week's OVC Pitcher of the Week, tossed five innings scoreless, allowed one hit and struck out eight batters.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Anayah Baker's reached base in five straight games after a walk this afternoon.
- Murray State's Sierra Gilmore logged her fourth home run of the year.
