NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's tennis team defeated Saint Louis, 4-3, at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
In the doubles competition,
Pierre Copin and
Maksims Kazijevs earned a win on court three, 6-3. On court two, SLU claimed a 6-3 win and the Billikens squeaked out a victory in the deciding match on court one, 7-6 (3).
During the individual portion, the Tigers secured victories on four courts to claim the team win. On court six,
Diego Britt-Alvarez defeated Jonathon Sadowski in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Daniel Perez-Caraballo and
Pierre Copin battled back after falling in the first set on courts two and five, respectively. In the second position,
Perez-Caraballo responded with a 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 result. In the fifth spot,
Copin dominated after the first set, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Nil Moinet clinched the victory for TSU with a three-set thriller in St. Louis, Missouri. The former OVC Player of the Week was the final competitor and succeeded with a 7-6, 5-7, 6-3 victory over Adam Behun.
