TSU BY THE NUMBERS

1,045: The number of career rushing yards that junior running back Jalen Rouse has now amassed. The Georgia native crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark with 68 yards on the ground against Norfolk State. He leads the team with 265 yards on the ground.

3: The TSU defense has recorded an interception in three straight games dating back to UT Martin. Josh Green started the streak with a pick at UTM (9/16), followed by Jeremiah Josephs against Kennesaw (10/7), and Bryce Phillips this past Saturday against Norfolk.

7: The number of consecutive field goals that James Lowery has made. He has been perfect dating back to TSU's second game of the season against UAPB, and he has hit five from 40+ in that span. He has nailed two field goals from 50+ this season and leads the team in scoring with 37 points.

65: Dayron Johnson had a season-long kick return of 65 yards against Norfolk. The junior finished with a season-high 71 yards on two returns. He has returned nine kicks this season for 255 yards, averaging 28.3 yards per return. Johnson sits just outside TSU's top three for career return yards with 1,374.

GONE CAMPING: Defensive end Terrell Allen set up camp in Norfolk's backfield as the senior recorded seven tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks in the win. Allen leads the TSU defense with 10.0 TFLs and 5.0 sacks, while his 29 tackles rank fourth. His performance against NSU led to the honors of Big South-OVC Defensive Player of the Week.

GROUND AND POUND: The TSU offense put up over 200 yards rushing for the first time this season against Norfolk. The Tigers ran the ball 50 times while accumulating 212 yards between four rushers. Jordan Gant led the team with 84 yards, while Jalen Rouse finished with 68. Draylen Ellis tallied 57 yards and a rushing TD, while Deveon Bryant chipped in seven yards.

ANCHOR DOWN: After giving up 31 sacks last season, the TSU coaches made an emphasis on improving the offensive line, and that has been evident through six games. The Tiger offensive line has only given up nine sacks this season, the second least in the Big South-OVC. TSU has relied heavily on JUCO transfers Nicholas Green and Romello Watson, while also utilizing returners Romello Tarver, Chazan Page, Darrell Branch, Jamari Freeman, Alex Valbuena, and Kennedy Wilbert. APSU transfer Aarion Harvey has also seen time, along with true freshman Hadine Diaby.

SCORING WHEN IT COUNTS: TSU has outscored its five FCS opponents 112-96 this season. The Tigers are averaging 22.4 points per game and allowing 19.2 in those five games against FCS-level competition. TSU has scored 20+ points in four of their five FCS games.
