NASHVILLE, Tenn.— For the first time since February 19, the Tennessee State University Tigers softball team (12-10-1) will be back in the friendly confines of Tiger Field when they take on the UAB Blazers (11-13, 1-2 C-USA) on Wednesday. This past weekend, TSU traveled to Lindenwood and came home with their first OVC three-game sweep since April 2007. The opening weekend sweep gives the Tigers their first 3-0 conference start in the program's history.
Â
TSU's schedule has been challenging, with them only playing four home games, taking on the ninth-ranked Texas Longhorns, the 24th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, and going on the road for three tournaments. They also played Chattanooga and the University of Incarnate Word in single games on the road.Â
Â
The two teams have McNeese State and Lindenwood as common opponents. McNeese State defeated TSU twice and UAB once. TSU is 3-0 against Lindenwood, and UAB is 1-0.
