CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Taking on one of the tougher teams in the Ohio Valley Conference, the Tennessee State women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Southeast Missouri on the road on Saturday afternoon. The loss moves the Tigers to 4-18 on the year.
SEMO took an early 1-0 lead heading into singles play after gabbing the doubles point. The Redhawks picked up 6-0 wins at lines two and three to claim the point.
Daniela Koleva had a strong second set during her match at the No. 3 singles spot, losing 1-6, 5-7.
Mikalia Coleman also showed a fight in her second set at line six, falling 0-6, 5-7.
Warona Mdlulwa fell 1-6, 2-6 at line one, while
Franka Sindicic also dropped her match 1-6, 2-6 in the No. 5 spot.
Naomi Von Bose was blanked in her first set but got points on the board in set two as she dropped her match 0-6, 2-6 at line two.
Aroa Arrieta Castillo dropped her match 1-6, 1-6 in the No. 4 spot.
The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they are set to host Eastern Illinois at Hadley Park. First-serve is slated for 2:00 p.m.
