NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University volleyball team continues to get great residual effects from their Ohio Valley Conference championship run. Head Coach Donika Sutton announced that senior outside hitter Johanna Alcantara has signed to play for the Leskovac 98 professional team in Serbia.
 
Last season, Alcantara, a native of the Dominican Republic, was a force at the net, broking the TSU single season kills record with 507. The Lindsey Wilson transfer's efforts helped the Tigers win the OVC postseason championship after being picked last in the preseason. Her efforts earned her eight weekly honors for the OVC.
 
"This is great for Jo and for our program," said Sutton. "Jo came in here and worked extremely hard. She is coachable and loves to learn. I am excited for her. She will represent her country and TSU well."
