NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State women's tennis team hosted its first match of the season on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed Lipscomb to Hadley Park. TSU dropped the match 0-7 to the Bison.
Lipscomb started the match off strong as they won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles sets to take the 1-0 lead.

Warona Mdlulwa were up 5-4 in No. 1 doubles when the point was decided as they saw their match go unfinished.
Francisca Gomez-Weiss was the only Tiger to win a set as she lost in the No. 5 singles spot 2-6, 6-3, 5-10. Mdlulwa fell in a close match at No. 2 4-6, 5-7.
Aroa Arrieta Castillo lost 3-6, 3-6 in the six slot.
"Everyone played hard and competed. Lipscomb was just better at the end of the day," stated coach
Steve Brooks. "We are improving each match. Fran split sets again for the second day in a row. It looks like the weather will be good next week which will give us enough court time to fix some things and prepare for North Alabama next weekend."
TSU will be back in action on Saturday at North Alabama.
