SAINT CHARLES, Mo. — The Tennessee State volleyball team could not out-play an opposing Lions offense Thursday on the road falling to Lindenwood in straight sets (21-25, 16-25, 14-25).
The loss dropped Tennessee State's record to 5-17 overall and 1-8 in OVC play.
Jayla Holcombe finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Lady Tigers offense. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Hadley Pride had 22 and Jazmin Vergara had 10.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Tigers couldn't endure a ferocious Lindenwood rally in the first set, falling 25-21 after leading by seven points at 8-1 earlier in the set.
SET 2 | Tennessee State trailed by as many as nine points as Lindenwood grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up three times before the Lions took over the lead.
SET 3 | Tennessee State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Tigers fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-14.
