BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Tennessee State women's basketball team got a 21-point showing from the bench, but fell 92-62 to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on the road Wednesday.
The Tigers (3-4) had two players score in double figures, led by Somah Kamara, who had 15 points. Saniah Parker added 11 points, two steals and three blocks and Kiki Roberts added six points, eight rebounds and three steals.
Roberts pulled down three offensive rebounds to lead an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Tennessee State, grabbing 12 boards and turning them into five second chance points.
Tennessee State did a great job disrupting Western Kentucky shots in the contest, coming away with five blocks. Parker's three rejections led the way individually for the Tigers.

Tennessee State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 28-11 at the end of the first quarter.
The Tigers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 54-26 halftime deficit.
Tennessee State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Tigers faced an 80-49 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Tennessee State's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled six of the team's 23 third-quarter points.
Tennessee State kept the Hilltoppers from increasing their lead before going on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 88-62 with 2:38 to go in the contest. Western Kentucky responded and outscored the Tigers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 92-62. Tennessee State got a boost from its bench in the period, with non-starters scoring 11 of its 13 total points.
