MOREHEAD, Ky. — The Tennessee State volleyball team fell to Morehead State  in three sets (14-25, 17-25, 20-25) on Wednesday.

The loss dropped Tennessee State's record to 4-10 overall and 0-1 in OVC play.

The Lady Tigers offense was paced by Jayla Holcombe, who finished with 11 kills on the day, and by Celestial Miller, who had 10 while hitting .259. got nine digs from Janke Pretorius to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Lady Tigers lost the first set 25-14 in spite of a strong performance on the attacking side. Tennessee State put together a .346 attack percentage with nine kills in the set loss.

SET 2 | A 25-17 set-two loss put Tennessee State behind two sets to none in the match. Tennessee State trailed by as many as eight points as Morehead State grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up four times before the Eagles took over the lead.

SET 3 | Tennessee State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Lady Tigers came up short by the score of 25-20. Morehead State grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up four times before the Eagles took over the lead.
