NASHVILLE — Tennessee State wrapped up Homecoming weekend play with another hard-fought effort but fell in straight sets (20-25, 16-25, 15-25) to Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon inside Kean Hall.
The Tigers (1-21, 0-9 OVC) continued to show development and balance on both sides of the net as sophomore Melae Lacy led the offense with seven kills on a .294 hitting percentage. Lacy has now recorded back-to-back matches with seven kills, continuing to be a steady force at the net.
Freshman Eirini Bitsaktsi once again anchored the defense with eight digs, while senior setter Sagaia Reilly contributed 12 assists and two service aces, pacing the Tigers' attack throughout the match.
Tennessee State kept the opening set close, drawing even eight times before the Lions edged ahead late. The Tigers showed resilience through the second and third frames, with strong rallies and extended defensive sequences that highlighted their continued growth through conference play.
Head coach Donika Sutton praised the team's competitive energy and defensive improvement as TSU looks ahead to the second half of the OVC slate.
