NASHVILLE – Tennessee State women's basketball continues Ohio Valley Conference road play Thursday as the Lady Tigers travel to Edwardsville, Illinois, to take on Southern Illinois–Edwardsville. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. at First Community Arena.

The matchup marks the beginning of a new road stretch for Tennessee State as the Lady Tigers look to respond with consistency and execution following a tightly contested home game over the weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee State is coming off a hard-fought 72–67 loss to Southern Indiana on Saturday at the Gentry Center. The Lady Tigers led 35–28 at halftime and showed balance on both ends of the floor before the Screaming Eagles pulled ahead late in the fourth quarter.

Xai Whitfield led TSU with 16 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc, while Somah Kamara provided a spark off the bench with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Erin Martin added 12 points, five rebounds, two steals, and a block, continuing her steady presence in the paint.

Tennessee State found success from long range, hitting eight three-pointers, and held Southern Indiana to 38.1 percent shooting from the field. The Lady Tigers also forced 15 turnovers and converted them into 17 points, emphasizing defensive pressure and transition opportunities.

SERIES HISTORY
Tennessee State and SIUE will meet for the 25th time in program history on Thursday. SIUE holds an 18–6 advantage in the all-time series.

Despite the historical edge, the Lady Tigers have continued to close the gap in recent seasons, using improved pace, perimeter shooting, and defensive activity to stay competitive in conference play.
