Women's Basketball Travel to Morehead State for Midday OVC Matchup

MOREHEAD, KY – Tennessee State women's basketball continues its road swing Saturday as the Lady Tigers travel to Morehead, Ky., to face Morehead State in Ohio Valley Conference action. Tip-off is set for noon CT inside Johnson Arena.

The matchup continues OVC play as Tennessee State looks to build on recent offensive momentum while emphasizing defensive pressure, rebounding, and balanced scoring on the road.

LAST TIME OUT

Tennessee State battled hard on the road but came up short in its matchup at Southern Indiana, falling in a competitive Ohio Valley Conference contest.

Somah Kamara led the Lady Tigers with 18 points, using her aggressive play to spark TSU's offense throughout the game. Aaniya Webb added 14 points, continuing her consistent scoring presence, while Erin Martin anchored the paint with 12 points and a strong defensive performance.

Kiki Roberts paced Tennessee State on the glass with seven rebounds, and Xai Whitfield directed the offense with five assists, helping TSU maintain rhythm in transition and in half-court sets.

Despite placing multiple players in double figures and finishing with 10 steals, the Lady Tigers were unable to overcome Southern Indiana's balanced attack. Tennessee State fought inside, tallying 36 total rebounds, but came up just short in the final score.

SERIES HISTORY

Saturday marks the 49th all-time meeting between Tennessee State and Morehead State. The Eagles hold a 27–21 advantage in the series.

The two programs have met regularly in OVC play, with TSU looking to narrow the gap and secure a key conference road win.
