NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State softball team returns home this weekend to continue Ohio Valley Conference play, hosting Lindenwood for a three-game series at Tiger Field.

The series will begin with a doubleheader on Thursday, April 2, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. In between games. The Tigers will wrap up the weekend on Friday, April 3, with a single game at 1 p.m. Fans are invited to take part in an Easter egg hunt at Tiger Field on Friday.

Tennessee State enters the weekend looking to build momentum in conference play following its recent road series at Southeast Missouri. The Tigers showed flashes offensively, highlighted by strong performances at the plate from Kailyn Jean-Baptiste and Mariyah Brown. Jean-Baptiste led the way with a multi-hit effort and an RBI, while Brown contributed a double and drove in a run.

Additional contributions came from Jace Jackson, who added a hit and a run scored, as the Tigers continue to look for consistency throughout the lineup.

In the circle, Tianna Salcido and Chelsi Ervin handled the bulk of the pitching duties in the series opener, with Ervin providing a steady presence in relief. Tennessee State will aim for continued growth from its pitching staff as it faces another conference opponent this weekend.

Lindenwood enters the matchup as a familiar OVC foe, with the two programs meeting multiple times over the past several seasons. The Tigers have found success in the series historically, including several key conference wins.

With conference play in full swing, Tennessee State will look to put together a complete performance on both sides of the ball as it hosts Lindenwood in a three-game set at Tiger Field.

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Tigers this weekend, enjoy a full slate of softball, and take part in Friday's Easter egg hunt between games.
