Throughout the summer months leading up to the Tennessee State University Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet on Aug. 27, Tennessee State Athletics will highlight the members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2026. This distinguished group of former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and contributors helped shape the proud tradition of Tiger athletics through championship performances, individual achievements and lasting contributions to the university. Their stories reflect the excellence, perseverance and impact that have defined Tennessee State Athletics across generations.
Kimberly Graves | Women's Basketball | 1991-96
Kimberly Graves was one of the premier point guards in Tennessee State women's basketball history, serving as the floor leader for the Tigers from 1991-96. A four-year standout, Graves built her legacy through exceptional playmaking, defensive intensity and leadership, helping guide Tennessee State to the 1995 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship. She finished her career ranked second in program history with 502 assists, a testament to her ability to orchestrate the offense and create scoring opportunities for her teammates. Her 142 assists during the 1992-93 season remain the third-highest single-season total in school history. Graves was equally impactful on the defensive end, recording 234 career steals, including 71 as a freshman, a mark that ranks among the top single-season performances in program history. Over 109 career games, she amassed 749 points while averaging 4.6 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game, showcasing her versatility and all-around contributions. As a senior, Graves averaged 5.0 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game, demonstrating her ability to impact every facet of the game. Her combination of leadership, court vision, defensive excellence and championship success helped establish the foundation for one of the most successful periods in Tennessee State women's basketball history, securing her place among the program's all-time greats.
