Charleston, Ill. --- The Tennessee State University softball
team dropped a pair in Saturday's doubleheader at Eastern Illinois.
Tennessee State (7-26, 1-9 OVC) tallied seven hits but fell,
10-0, in game one before falling to Eastern Illinois, 13-0, in the second game
of the day. EIU improved to 18-5 overall and remained undefeated (5-0) in
conference play.
Caitlin Eaton (4-11) was charged with the loss in game one while Jasmine
Brimm went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Tedra Alford was 2-for-3 while Eaton,
Kelly Troglin and Jalisa Bradley also registered hits in the contest.
Amber May (7-3) picked up the win for Eastern Illinois while
Melise Brown (3-for-3) led the Panthers with three hits and five RBI.
Kelly Troglin was tagged with the loss in game two. The
Tiger offense struggled as TSU went hitless in the contest.
Stephanie Maday (8-1) earned the win for Eastern Illinois
while Melise Brown and Kiley Holtz led the Panthers with three hits apiece. The
Panthers finished the day with seven homeruns.
TSU will conclude the three-game series versus Eastern
Illinois on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
