Women's Tennis Starts Season with Loss at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee State women's tennis team started the 2013 campaign with a 7-0 defeat at Lipscomb on Friday afternoon.

TSU lost all four singles matches that it played with London Thomas losing 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot to Deahna Welcher. Melissa Kromer of Lipscomb won at No. 2 singles defeating Shardel Suber of TSU 6-0, 6-0.

No.3 Kryston Mason was swept in straight sets by Jenny Borck 6-0, 6-0, as was Attallah Eiland at the No.4 spot against Reagan Panovec.

The Lady Tigers forfeited at No. 5 and No.6 singles.


In doubles action, the No.1 team of Suber and Eiland lost to Borck and Welcher of Lipscomb 8-1. The No. 2 team of Mason and Thomas dropped their match by the same score to Shilpa Naruka and Kromer. TSU did not field a No. 3 doubles squad

The Lady Tigers (0-1) will host Graceland in Nashville on Friday, March 15 before traveling to Jacksonville State to start OVC play on March 17.
