NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State University women's basketball team hits the road after a big win on Tuesday with meetings at Georgia State on Friday morning and Kansas on Sunday Afternoon.

SERIES INFORMATION: This is sixth all-time meeting between TSU and Georgia State. The first meeting came during the 1982-83 season, a 66-65 win for the Tigers. The Panthers won the next two games during the 1991-92 season before TSU won the next season series during the 1992-93 season. In the last meeting, an 88-83 overtime win by Georgia State, Taylor Roberts led all scorers with 28 points in 38 minutes. For Georgia State, Taylor Hosendove had 18 points and 16 rebounds. TSu led 39-32 at the half, but a strong third quarter by the Panthers pushed the game to overtime where they outscored TSU 12-7.
FIRST MEETING: On Sunday, TSU's contest at Kansas will be the first meeting between the Tigers and JayHawks.
GIA'S OPENING GIG: Rookie Gia Adams had a fantastic opening performance as a Tiger with 17 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes against Fisk on Tuesday. Adams connected on 5-of-14 from the field with three made triples and was perfect from the line knocking down all four free throws. The Houston product also had five assists and just two turnovers running the point.
DAVIS' DEBUT: Tatyana Davis has 16 points, four assists and three steals in her first game with the Tigers. Davis shot 6-of-11 from the field and hit three 3-pointers in 23 minutes.
KEYS TO KIANNI: Kianni Westbrook had 12 points and seven rebounds in her debut for the Tigers. The Daytona State transfer shot 6-of-11 from the field.
SIERRA'S BLOCK PARTY: UNC Charlotte transfer Sierra McCullough had nine points, eight rebounds and a team-hight three blocks in 22 minutes. McCullough shot 75 percent from the floor and chipped in three made free throws.
REPO ROBINS: Lacy Robins had a great defensive outing against Fisk with nine points and seven steals. Those seven steals set a career-best for the Georgia Southern transfer.
A PROGRAM FIRST: Tuesday's 94 points performance against Fisk set a program record for most points scored in a season opener. The previous record for most points during the season opener was 87 set during the 1994-95 season when the Tigers defeated Furman during the Teresa Phillips era. That team ended up 22-7 and advanced to the programs second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
