NASHVILLE — After 18 days away from the Gentry Center, the Tennessee State women's basketball team returns home to face Mercer on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

SERIES INFORMATION: This is the seventh all-time meeting between TSU and Mercer and the second game in consecutive seasons. The first meeting was on November 26, 1990, a 73-70 win for Mercer in overtime. The Lady Tigers won the next four games which included nearly a 10-year gap between matchups. Last season, the Bears won 81-61 at home. Andreana Wrister led the team with 17 points and Taylor Roberts had 15. For Mercer, two players scored 20+ points — Jaron Dougherty (25) and Amoria Neal-Tysor (23).
UP NEXT: Next Sunday's contest between the Lady Tigers and Kansas City will be the first all-time meeting.
ADAMS' BEST: Gia Adams set a season-best with 17 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the field. Adams knocked down 4-of-6 from the line with two rebounds and a teal in the loss at Omaha. Adams is averaging 11.8 points this season with 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Adams has at least one rebound and assist in all six games.
OFF DAY SHOOTING: TSU had an off day from the field at Omaha, shooting just 19-of-67 for 28.4 percent. This season, the Lady Tigers are clipping at 39 percent from the field. In games they've won, TSU has shot 40 percent or better with it's best outing from the field at 51 percent against Fisk. On the defensive side, TSU has held its opponents to under 36 percent shooting in three of seven games.
MERCER SCOUT:The Bears conclude their two-game Volunteer State trip against the Lady Tigers. Mercer fell to Middle Tennessee 59-49 on Friday evening and was led by Shannon Titus with 12 points and six rebounds. Jaron Dougherty had 11 points and eight rebounds. Amoria Neal-Tysor leads the squad with 13.0 points per game with Dougherty and Titus right behind her. On the glass, Dougherty (8.4) and Titus (7.7) lead the way for the Bears.
