WBB Hits The Road For SIUE and EIU

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's basketball team will play a pair of games away from the Gentry Center this week, as they travel to SIUE and Eastern Illinois on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. 

The Matchup: Tennessee State Lady Tigers (10-8, 5-2 OVC) at SIUE (7-11, 3-4 OVC)

SIUE SERIES INFORMATION: The Cougars have dominated the season series over Tennessee State and hold a 13-3 mark over the Lady Tigers. SIUE has won the last seven games over TSU with the last Lady Tiger victory coming on Jan. 19, 2016, a 73-61 win.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS: SIUE enters Thursday's contest with 7-11 overall record and a 3-4 mark in OVC play. SIUE fell in a tough contest on Monday vs. Murray State, 84-82. Northern Illinois-GW transfer Gabby Nikitinaite leads SIUE in points this season with 13.3 per night. In her previous game against Murray State, Nikitinaite finished with a double-double (23p, 11r).

EIU SERIES INFORMATION: EIU leads the season series, 31-15 but have split the last 10 games. EIU is on a three-game winning streak after sweeping the Lady Tigers last season.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS: Eastern Illinois will meet UT Martin on Thursday before hosting TSU on Saturday. The Panthers are 2-1 in their last three OVC games after falling to Tennessee Tech,65-60 on Monday. Lariah Washington paces the team at 14.9 points per game. Abby Wahl leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.4 boards per night.

CLAYTOR'S CREATIONS: Through seven OVC games, Dominique Claytor has been the most consistent scorers for the Lady Tigers, averaging 12.7 per game. Claytor has reached double figures in six of seven games.
