NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will conclude their two-game home stand on Saturday night as they are set to host cross-town opponent Lipscomb. The Lady Tigers will be in search of their second D1 win after picking up their first of the season last Sunday against Omaha, while also looking to move to 4-0 at home.

SERIES INFORMATION: Separated by just 6.6 miles, this will be the 29
th meeting between the Tigers and the Bisons with TSU holding the 23-5 all-time advantage. The two schools first met in the 78-79 season playing twice, with the Tigers winning both matchups (66-52, 63-56). TSU would then go on to win the next eight matchups against Lipscomb to move to 10-0 before suffering their first loss to the Bisons in 1988. The Tigers and Bisons last matched up in December of 2021 with TSU picking up the win 50-49.
SCOUTING LIPSCOMB: The Bisons (5-3) come into Saturday night's contest averaging 73.0 points per game while allowing 62.4. Lipscomb is riding a three-game winning streak heading into Saturday's contest after taking down Hawaii, Western Kentucky, and Oakwood in their last three outings. The Bisons opened their season with back-to-back losses to TCU and Northern Kentucky and have only dropped one more since. Lipscomb has done well shooting the three-ball this season as they are shooting 35.3 percent from beyond the arc (65-of-184). Aleah Sorrentino (7.6 ppg) and Blythe Pearson (6.6 ppg) lead Lipscomb in scoring.
HOME COOKIN': The Tigers moved to 3-0 at home after defeating Omaha 74-72 inside the Gentry Center last Sunday afternoon. TSU took down Fisk to open the season at home, followed by their second home victory of the season against Trevecca. TSU is averaging 81 points per game when they are playing at home, as their three highest-scoring games have all come at home.
STAYING LOCAL: TSU will play their third school which is located inside of the Nashville city limits when they host Lipscomb on Saturday night. The Tigers opened the season with NAIA program Fisk, which is located 1.6 miles from the TSU's campus, followed by Trevecca which is 5.4 miles away. Head coach
Ty Evans is 4-4 against teams located in Nashville after taking down Fisk and Lipscomb last season.
HAYNES-OVERTON HEATING UP: Erica Haynes-Overton dropped a TSU career-high 32 points in Sunday's win over Omaha. The grad transfer and former ETSU star played a season-high 29 minutes, and collected five steals, matching her number from the Fisk game. The Nashville native had a hot start, scoring the first five points for TSU. She is 7
th in the OVC in scoring with 12.3 ppg, while also averaging 2.5 steals per game.
HARD IN THE PAINT: TSU has finished with 30+ points in the paint in each of their three wins this season, while they have scored less than 30 in each of their three losses. The Tigers finished with 34 points in the win against Omaha, while tallying 54 against Trevecca and 42 against Fisk.
50 BURGER: Sierra McCullough hit the 50-rebound mark for the season after pulling down six boards against Omaha. The senior leads the OVC in rebounds per game with 8.3 and is one of two players in the league with 50 boards.

th game of forcing 20+ turnovers in the win over Omaha. The Lady Tigers forced 27 Maverick turnovers, which ranks 2
nd behind the 40 forced turnovers against Fisk. The only game that TSU did not force 20+ turnovers in was against Chattanooga as they forced just 15. The Lady Tigers lead the league with 25.0 forced turnovers per outing.
BALL HAWKS: TSU collected a season-high 17 steals against Omaha.
