WEST LAFAYETTE, IN. The Tennessee State University Indoor Track & Field season is upon us. Director of Track & Field Chandra Cheeseborough-GuiceĀ is excited to start her 28th season directing a young Tiger team with 30 freshmen. The Tigers will travel to Indiana this Saturday to participate in the Purdue University Edmonds-Wilt Invitational at Lambert Fieldhouse. The event will start with field events at 9:30 a.m. CST. Running events begin at 11:15 a.m. The final event, the 4x400 relay, is set for 4:30 p.m.

"We are very young, so we will see what we can do," said Cheeseborough-Guice. "The team has worked hard, and now it is time to see where we stand. This invitational is competitive. I can't wait to see how we compete."

Joining TSU and Purdue in the invitational will be Florida International University, the University of Northern Colorado, and Southeast Missouri State University. This fall, Cheeseborough-GuiceĀ introduced two fellow former Olympians to her staff. Sprint and hurdle coach Muna Lee and thrower coach Gwendolyn Berry. Veteran assistant David Rachel returns to the staff. The coaches look forward to grooming the young group into future Tiger champions.
