Devin Jones Leads Track and Field at Georgia Tech Invitational with 800m Win

ATLANTA, Ga. — Tennessee State athletes competed across sprints, hurdles, relays, and field events at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, turning in multiple solid performances on both sides.

On the men's side, Kylen Thorps led the Tigers in the 400m hurdles with a 54.16, followed by Brian Townsend (54.61) and Bobby Teixeira (56.82). Joshua McClendon ran 48.08 in the 400m, while Devin Jones paced the 800m group in 1:50.23 alongside Robert Hooper (1:51.01), Delton White (1:56.92), and Aaron Davis (1:58.20). In the 200m, Caleb Joshway posted a 21.23, with Jayden Guy finishing in 22.31.

In the relays, TSU's men's 4x400 "A" squad of Devin Jones, Caleb Joshway, Kylen Thorps, and Joshua McClendon ran 3:14.37, while the "B" team of Aaron Davis, Delton White, Brian Townsend, and Robert Hooper finished in 3:24.25.

In the field events, Christian White recorded a 6.74m long jump, Kolby Jones reached 6.60m and also added a 14.14m mark in the triple jump, while Gabriel Deng went 13.85m in the triple jump.

On the women's side, Serenity Harry led TSU in the 200m with a 24.71, followed by Kaymin Sales (25.89) and Syncere Harrison (27.89). In the 400m, Kaymin Sales also posted a 58.77, while Sydney McGee ran 2:22.91 in the 800m and Haley Blades followed in 2:28.90.

In the field events, Carolyn McRee recorded a 12.27m shot put, Ayana Pugh added an 11.39m mark, and Kaylin White posted a 5.90m long jump. Emmani Roberts also contributed in the triple jump with an 11.73m effort.
