JACKSON, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University men's golf team opened their fall slate this past Monday and Tuesday, as they played 54-holes over two in The Grover Classic, at the Jackson Country Club. The Tigers shot a two-day total of 927 (
R1 306,
R2 316,
R3 305) to finish in 16
th place.
Jared Southerland paced the Tigers as he fired a 225 to finish tied for 57
th place. Southerland's 72 in the first round was the best individual score among TSU golfers.
After firing a 78 in the first round and an 82 in the second round,
Mikus Ming was able to shave eight strokes off his round two score to finish with a 74 in round three. Ming finished tied for 83
rd with a 234. Carter Walton shot a 74 in round two to match Ming for the second lowest TSU score of the event.
