Men's Golf Opens Season In Seventh Place at TheeILove Intercollegiate

Flowood, Miss.Greyson Koch and Mason Hunter tied for 15th to lead the Tennessee State men's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the TheeILove Intercollegiate.

The Tigers finished the three-round tournament at 40 over par in the eight-team field. After opening at 24 over, Tennessee State improved by 19 strokes in the second round with a 5-over performance before closing at 11 over.

Koch and Hunter each finished at 7 over. Koch followed an opening round of 5 over with a 1-under second round and a 3-over final round. Hunter posted Tennessee State's lowest round of the tournament, shooting 4 under in the second round between rounds of 3 over and 8 over.

Greyson Barrett finished 22nd at 9 over, improving his score in each round. Barrett opened at 5 over, shot 3 over in the second round and closed at 1 over for the Tigers' lowest individual score in the final round.

Justin Marcus and Bo Twerdahl tied for 43rd at 23 over. Marcus followed rounds of 14 over and 7 over with a 2-over finish. Twerdahl also improved each round, posting scores of 11 over, 7 over and 5 over.

Prairie View A&M won the team title at 4 under, finishing 11 strokes ahead of runner-up Texas Southern. Arkansas-Pine Bluff placed third at 10 over.

Prairie View A&M's Joah Bramwell claimed medalist honors at 8 under, two strokes ahead of Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Thomas Lyaudet.
