NASHVILLE- Coming off a successful performance in the Louisville Urban League KSU HBCU Indoor Classic, the TSU Flying Tiger and Tigerbelle athletes will take their talents to the West End part of Nashville as they compete in the Vanderbilt Invitational Meet (January 20-21, 2023, Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility).

Serenity Harry and
Elaina Housworth earned Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors for their efforts in Louisville. Harry got the OVC's Track Athlete of the Week by recording two first-place finishes. Housworth won the Freshman of the Week award for the second time this season. Her 7.63 time in the 60-meter dash is the third top time in the OVC this season. She followed that up with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash after racing to a 24.91 time which is tops in the OVC this season.
Housworth earned her second Female Field Athlete of the Week award. The Georgia native won the long jump with a leap of 5.62 meters. She also took first place in the triple jump with a 12.12-meter effort. Housworth leads the OVC in both events.
The invitational will start at 9 AM with the Men's and Women's Heptathlon and finish at 8 PM with the 1000-meter run. Saturday's events will begin at 8:30 PM with the heptathlon finals and finish with the 4x400 meter relays.
