Women's Basketball Set to Face Little Rock for Second Time

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's basketball will hit the road for their second-ever trip to the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Ark., to take on Little Rock. This will be the second meeting of the season between the two schools as TSU will look to get revenge after dropping the first matchup.

SERIES INFORMATION: This will be just the third-ever matchup between the Lady Tigers and the Trojans as the two squads met for the second time just three weeks ago in Nashville on New Year's Eve, which was their first OVC matchup. This will be TSU's second Little Rock. TSU dropped the season's first matchup 64-57. Erica Haynes-Overton led the Lady Tigers with 22 points, followed by Gia Adams (11), and Saniah Parker (10).

SCOUTING LITTLE ROCK: The Trojans are averaging a league-low 50.2 ppg, but find themselves as the second-best team in the OVC standings. They are giving up 54.2 points per contest. Playing in just six games, Sali Kourouma leads the team in ppg with 17.8, followed by Faith Lee who is averaging 9.2 ppg. The Trojans have only hit 16 threes on the season as they are shooting 17.2 percent from behind the arc.
 
HEATING UP: Saniah Parker had her third straight game of scoring in double figures as she finished with 15 points last night against EIU. Parker scored 15 against UTM, followed by 14 against TTU, and now 15 against EIU. The Alabama native has knocked down seven three-pointers in the last three games.
 
SEVEN IN A ROW: Erica Haynes-Overton finished with 14 points against EIU to push her double-digit scoring streak to seven games in a row, all of which have been OVC contests. EHO has finished in double figures 13 times this season. She is averaging 17.9 points per game in those seven games.
 
SIXTH WOMAN: Ashely Malone had another strong game for the Lady Tigers as she finished in double figures for the second straight game, scoring 13 points off the bench. Malone played a season-high 28 minutes last night, surpassing her previous season high of 19 minutes. The transfer guard from Jacksonville University is averaging 6.3 ppg in her first season with TSU.
