Women's Basketball Set to Host Southern Indiana in Regular Season Finale

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's basketball team will return to the Gentry Center one last time this season as they are set to host Southern Indiana tomorrow for graduation day.
 
The Matchup: Tennessee State (11-16, 7-10 OVC) vs. Southern Indiana (11-17, 5-12 OVC)
Date/Time: Thursday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m.
Location: Gentry Center || Nashville, Tenn.

SERIES INFORMATION: This will be the second-ever meeting between TSU and USI, and the first-ever meeting in Nashville. The two schools met for the first time earlier this month in Evansville, as the Lady Tigers came away with 59-55 win. The Screaming Eagles are in their first season as a DI program after making the jump from DII. Erica Haynes-Overton finished with 15 points, while Gia Adams finished with 10.
 
SCOUTING USI: The Screaming Eagles come into tomorrow afternoon's matchup losers of three straight. USI's last win came against Lindenwood on February 11. USI is averaging 64.9 ppg while giving up 63.9. Hannah Haitcock leads the team in scoring with 14.8 ppg followed by Meredith Raley who averages 13.3 points per outing. Vanessa Shafford leads the team in rebounding with 7.2 rebounds per game.
 
16 IN A ROW: Erica Haynes-Overton had a quiet night against UTM, but still managed to chip in 12 points, which marks her 16th straight game of 10+ points. EHO is averaging 16.9ppg ppg during this 16-game stretch and has scored 20+ points five times in that span.
 
GRADUATION DAY: TSU will honor four Lady Tigers that are set to graduate with their degrees on Saturday afternoon as it will be Graduation Day for TSU in their final home game of the season. The Lady Tigers will honor Kianni Westbrook, Sierra McCullough, Erica Haynes-Overton, and Shonnyvelle Regalado.
 
SEASON FINALE WOES: The last time the Lady Tigers won their season finale was in the 2015-16 season, as they have dropped seven straight season finales since. TSU will look to reverse that as they go for the season sweep against USI tomorrow afternoon.
