Women's Tennis Drops First Conference Match of Season

Box Score NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State women's tennis team opened up Ohio Valley Conference play on Sunday afternoon as they took on Southern Illinois Edwardsville at the Vanderbilt Indoor tennis courts. TSU dropped the match 7-0.
 
Despite dropping the doubles point to start the match, the Tigers won at line one as the duo of Warona Mdlulwa / Naomi Von Bose earned the 7-5. Victory. TSU lost 6-3 at line two and 6-1 at line three to have SIUE claim the early 1-0 lead.
 
TSU struggled in the singles of portion, as they did not pick up a set win. Von Bose played a close match in the No. 2 spot, falling 3-6, 4-6. Franka Sindicic lost 1-6, 4-6 at line six, while Jovana Nikolic fell 4-6, 1-6 in the No. 4 spot.
 
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they are set to host Tennessee Southern at 4:00 p.m. at Hadley Park.
