BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Competing in just their second event of the spring season, the Tennessee State men's golf shot a 642 (R1: 322, R2: 320) as they played 36 holes on day one of the Aggie Invitational.
TSU currently sits in 9
th out of 10 teams in the field with one round left to play.
Sebert Walker led the Tigers this afternoon as he is tied for 5
th place after two rounds with a 146 (72, 74).
Allen Stokes finished tied for 36
th after firing a 160 (78, 82), while
Jeremiah Gardenhire sits 10 spots back in 46
th place with a 169 (85, 84).
Isaac Napier sits one spot back in 47
th place after tallying a 172 (87, 85).
Carter Walton (50
th place) rounds out the TSU lineup after shooting an 80 in round two after being forced to miss round one. "Carter has been getting treatment for his foot and he could not bear the pain in the first round so we pulled him," stated head coach Parrish McGrath. "We rested him through the morning round and gave him an opportunity to try and play in the second round, which he did valiantly. He hobbled around the course and scrapped together our second-best score in the second round."
The Tigers will conclude the tournament tomorrow with 18 holes.
