NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's golf team could not have asked for better weather on Monday afternoon as they played two rounds in the Big Blue Intercollegiate at the Hermitage Golf Course. Hosting their annual event, the Tigers finished day one in 15
th of 15 teams after finishing with a 597 (297, 300).
Carter Walton paced the squad as he fired a 74 in round one, and 73 in round two to finish tied for 47
th in the 90-player field.
Sebert Walker finished with back-to-back 74s to total 148, while
Jared Southerland and tallied a 73 and 75 to also finish with 148. Walker and Southerland are tied for 53
rd.
Allen Stokes (78, 78) and
Isaac Napier (76, 80) both finished with a two-round total of 156, which has them tied for 85
th.
Jeremiah Gardenhire made good adjustments in round two to cut five strokes off his round one 82 to finish with a 159 (82, 77), which has him in 90
th place.
The Tigers will close out the Big Blue Intercollegiate with 18 more holes tomorrow as they will look to climb up the team leaderboard. Round three's shotgun start is set for 8:00 a.m.
