CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Tennessee State men's golf team had a tough outing over the course of three days as they competed in the 54-hole Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament. The Tigers finished in 9
th place out of the nine-team field with a three-day total of 939 (316, 316, 307).
Jared Southerland paced TSU throughout the event as he came in 31
st place with a 230 (77, 74, 79). Southerland's 74 in round two was the best TSU score of the tournament.
Sebert Walker finished two strokes back with a 232 (78, 77, 77) as he finished tied for 32
nd.
Carter Walton (82, 81, 75) made adjustments in each round to finish in 39
th place with a 238.
Isaac Napier logged a 40th-place finish with a 246 (80, 84, 82), while
Allen Stokes finished one stroke and one place back. Stokes came in 41
st with a 247 (81, 90, 76), as he saved his best round for round three.
TSU will have one more event this season as they have been selected to play in the PGA Works Collegiate Championships May 8-10. The three-day event will be held in Birmingham, Ala., at the Shoal Creek Golf Course.
