Box Score 2 OXFORD, MISS. – The Tennessee State University women's tennis team kicked off its spring season with a commanding 5-2 victory over Delta State before falling to SEC member Ole Miss on Sunday.
In the opening match against Delta State, the Tigers displayed their dominance, securing the doubles point with wins from Jovana Nikolic/Victoria Cooksey at the #3 spot and Warona Mdlulwa/Francisca Gomez Weiss at #1 doubles. In singles, TSU extended its strong performance with victories from Aroa Arrieta Castillo, Louise Ratiu, Jovana Nikolic, and Sydney Brantley.
The Tigers faced a tough challenge in their next match against Ole Miss, falling 4-0 to the Rebels. Despite the loss, TSU gained valuable experience competing against a nationally prominent opponent. Ole Miss claimed the doubles point with wins at the #1 and #2 positions and swept three completed singles matches to secure the victory.
