Box Score 2 NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's tennis team fell to Lipscomb, 6-1, on Saturday night and then to Belmont 5-2 on Sunday at the Ensworth Tennis Center.

The Bisons took control early, sweeping the doubles competition to claim the opening point. Lipscomb's No. 1 pair, Sofiia Paladi and S. Bobrovnikova, cruised to a 6-1 victory over TSU's Warona Mdlulwa and Victoria Cooksey. At No. 2 doubles, Mariia Dolzhenko and Rut Galindo replicated the scoreline, defeating Louise Ratiu and Sydney Brantley 6-1. The No. 3 doubles match was left unfinished with Lipscomb leading 5-2.
In singles, TSU's lone highlight came at the No. 3 position, where Francisca Gomez-Weiss claimed victory after her opponent, Rut Galindo, retired due to injury while trailing 3-2 in the opening set.
Despite the Tigers' efforts, Lipscomb controlled the remaining singles matches. Paladi earned a decisive 6-2, 6-0 win over Mdlulwa at No. 1, while Dolzhenko defeated Brantley 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2. The No. 2 match featured a hard-fought battle, but Belmont's Viktoria Kliimand and Hana Sokolovic edged Louise Ratiu and Warona Mdlulwa in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4). At No. 3 doubles, Belmont's Libbie Hamilton and Sarah McElrath defeated Sydney Brantley and Victoria Cooksey, 6-4.
In singles play, Tennessee State showed resilience, securing two victories. At No. 4, Louise Ratiu defeated Belmont's Aly Getty in a three-set thriller, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), 10-8, while at No. 2, Francisca Gomez-Weiss also triumphed in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4, over Viktoria Kliimand.
